ROSNYSTOCK 2025

RosnyStock is a rock concert-style event and a long-standing tradition at Rosny College, offering students an authentic learning experience in the world of live music. It’s a professional-level production featuring performances by bands and acoustic acts, supported by live lighting and sound, event management, and media production.

This event is a collaborative effort involving staff and students from Contemporary Music & Songwriting, University Connections Songwriting, University Connections Foundation Practical Study, VET Live Production, VET Screen and Media, Technical Theatre, and other passionate contributors from across the college.

This year, we were thrilled to welcome two bands from Clarence High School to join the lineup, adding to the vibrant energy of the evening.

Everyone involved worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to RosnyStock, and that dedication was clearly reflected in the high standard of performance and production across all areas. The event not only showcased musical talent but also the behind-the-scenes expertise that brings a live show to life.

Three acts were selected by guest industry judges to represent Rosny at the Tasmanian Rock Challenge: acoustic act Lachie R., and bands Sunburn and Will’s Kittens. All three delivered fantastic performances at the Southern Heats at Altar, with Will’s Kittens advancing to the state final at the Launceston Conference Centre on September 12th.

Events like RosnyStock highlight the importance of performing arts education in senior secondary school. These programs foster creativity, collaboration, confidence, and real-world skills that extend far beyond the stage. Whether students pursue careers in the arts or apply these experiences elsewhere, it empowers young people to express themselves, connect with others, and thrive in diverse pathways.
